Run a business or a trade?

Get found for the jobs you do.

We list Lincolnshire businesses from public records with nothing more than a name, address and category. If that's you, claim your listing free and correct anything we got wrong. Not listed yet? Give us your business name, phone and website and we do the rest, so the right requests reach you. Want it gone? One click and it's removed.

1

Find your business

Search by name or town. Most food businesses, shops and many garages and salons are already here. Not listed? Join free on the pros page.

2

Give us three things

Business name, phone and website. That's the whole form. We read your website and fill in the jobs you do and the towns you cover (work from home? we show the area, never a home address).

3

Choose free or Promoted

Free shows your name, category, area (up to 3 towns), pin, ratings, one line about you, up to 3 service bullets and a short description, tagged "Added by the business"; free listings get customer requests ("Lead from LincsDirectory" emails) as a fallback when no Promoted business covers the job and town. Promoted adds your own profile page (logo, photos, full description, up to 20 service points, website, phone, hours), covers as many towns as you serve, puts you first and sends customer requests to you first, for £4.99 a month. Cancel any time.

Free vs Promoted

First 10 weeks free, then £4.99 a month.

Founding offer: your first 10 weeks of Promoted are free, then £4.99 a month or £39 a year, cancel any time. Limited to the first three businesses per category in each town. Everything a customer needs to choose you. One small monthly fee, no contract, no commission; stop whenever you like and the listing goes back to free. See what you get with a Promoted listing.

Questions

Straight answers

Is my business already listed?

Probably, if you run a food business or a shop with a public address in Lincolnshire. We build the directory from public records: the Food Standards Agency's Food Hygiene Rating Scheme and OpenStreetMap. Search for your business name; if it is there, you can claim it and take control of the details. If it is not, add it free.

What does a free listing include?

Your business name, category, your address or the area you cover (your home area, up to 3 towns), a pin on the map, customer ratings, and, when you add or claim the listing yourself, an “Added by the business” tag, an Update details link, one line about your business (up to 100 characters), up to 3 service bullets and a short description of about five lines (up to 400 characters), all in your own words and read by us before they appear. Customer requests come to LincsDirectory and are passed on by email, marked “Lead from LincsDirectory”, to Promoted businesses that cover the job and town first; a free listing gets one only when no Promoted business covers that job and town. Listings built from public data show the name, address and category only; claim yours to add the rest at no cost. Promoted adds your own profile page with your logo, up to 8 photos, a full description with up to 20 service points, your website link, phone and hours, first place in results and cover for as many towns as you serve, or the whole county.

What does a Promoted (Premium) listing cost and include?

Founding offer: your first 10 weeks of Promoted are free, then £4.99 a month or £39 a year, cancel any time. Limited to the first three businesses per category in each town. After the free weeks it is £4.99 a month, billed monthly, cancel any time. You get your own profile page with your logo, a photo gallery of up to 8 images, a full description (up to 2,000 characters) with up to 20 service points, a link to your website, your phone number, opening hours and the towns you cover (or all of Lincolnshire); you appear first in search results and on job pages for your town and category with a Premium tag and a “See full profile” button; customer requests go to Promoted businesses first and reach you by email, marked “Lead from LincsDirectory”; and we send you a free local business report from Aide when you start.

How do I pay?

Press Subscribe on the For businesses or claim page: a secure Stripe checkout takes Apple Pay, Google Pay or card, where your device supports them, £4.99 a month (or £39 a year). Use the same email address on the checkout and the form so we can match your payment to your listing. You can cancel any time from the link in Stripe's receipt emails or by emailing hello@lincsdirectory.co.uk; the listing stays Promoted until the end of the month you have paid for, then goes back to free. We never take card details by phone or email.

Are the ratings real?

Yes. Anyone can rate a business from its listing. A person reads every rating before it appears, we never invent ratings or counts, and businesses can reply through the claim form. Where a business has no approved ratings yet we say so.

Can I suggest a business that isn't listed?

Yes. Use the Suggest a business page: give us the name and the town, and anything else you know. We check each suggestion against public records before it goes live, usually within a few days. Nothing is published automatically.

How do I remove my listing?

Use the Remove my listing option on the claim form or phone 01522 424963. We act on removal requests promptly and add the business to our do-not-list record so it does not come back with the next data refresh.

Where does the information come from?

Names, addresses and categories come from the Food Standards Agency (Open Government Licence v3.0) and OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), both public datasets. Where the OpenStreetMap record includes a business phone number we show it; otherwise we do not publish phone numbers, emails or opening hours unless the business gives them to us. Details on Premium listings come from the business itself.

Do you check or recommend the tradespeople listed?

No. LincsDirectory is a directory and an introducer, not a contractor or a vetting service. We don't vet or endorse businesses, so always check credentials (Gas Safe registration for gas work, proof of electrical registration, insurance) and get a written quote before work starts. Our job pages tell you what to ask.

What happens when I send a 'Get local help' request?

A person at LincsDirectory reads it and passes it, with the contact details you gave, to listed local businesses that cover your area and do that kind of work. If you sent it from a business's own listing (Request a quote), it still comes to us first: we pass requests to Promoted businesses that cover the job and town first and, only if no Promoted business covers it, to free listings, which can include the business you asked about. They may contact you by phone or email. We only share your request with the consent you give on the form, and we keep it for up to 12 months.

Who runs LincsDirectory?

TAG Sleaford Ltd, a Lincolnshire company based at Kesteven Business Centre in Sleaford. We also run the business centre and Aide, our business-reports service, and both have Premium listings on this site. Premium listings are paid placements and are always marked.
