A directory that starts complete and gets better.

Most local directories start empty and ask businesses to fill them. LincsDirectory starts with every Lincolnshire business we can find in public records, so people can use it from day one, and then hands each business the keys to its own listing.

How it works

We take two public datasets, the Food Standards Agency's Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (published under the Open Government Licence v3.0) and OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL), and publish nothing more than a business name, address, category and map pin. New listings go live every day. Any business can claim its listing free and correct it, or ask us to remove it.

Businesses that want more can go Featured for a one-off £4.99: a photo, website link, phone number, opening hours and a short description, first place in search results for their town and category with a clear Featured label, and a free local business report from Aide.

Who we are

LincsDirectory is a trading name of TAG Sleaford Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 12870323. We're based at Kesteven Business Centre in Sleaford, which we also run, alongside Aide, our fixed-price business-reports service. Both advertise on this site, and those adverts are labelled like any other.

What we don't do

We don't publish phone numbers, email addresses, opening hours or anything beyond name, address and category unless the business gives it to us.
We don't set cookies or run analytics trackers.
We don't invent reviews, ratings or testimonials. Counts shown on the site are computed from the listings that are live.
We don't sell your information.

Corrections and removals

Public records lag behind reality: businesses close, move and change hands. If a listing is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it. If you want your business off the directory, ask and we'll remove it promptly and keep it off.
